“Baby, hon, don’t take this the wrong way, ok… but you’re getting a little pudgy.”

What? You look at your midsection… and see that the pint of beer you’ve been sipping while watching the Manchester United game is resting on what can only be described as a knoll of fat. Two knolls, maybe… or perhaps it’s just a rolling knoll. It’s not a mound… yet, but it has the potential to become one, especially as you subsist on beer, nachos, and take-out.

“Yeah, I, uh… I haven’t been to the gym in a while,” you say sheepishly.

You said it would never happen, but somewhere along the way the “Dad Bod” found you. Somewhere in that knoll of fat is a hibernating six-pack. But how do you wake it up? The gym isn’t your thing. There’s too much alpha male testosterone. Too much athlete’s foot. The place smells like a wet rabbit hatch, and there’s mushrooms growing in the shower stalls. No worries, gentlemen. There are fab exercise routines that will get you back into those body hugging clothes.

The Breakdancer

Why bore yourself silly doing push-ups and sit-ups when you can put on some old school hip hop and do the breakdancer? Start from the push-up plank position, and then move your feet from side to side and across the body. According to Men’s Health, "It adds a whole new level of difficulty because your core has to fight to stay stable against the fast-paced motion of your legs.”
Dumbbell Hot Potato Squat

It’s the perfect exercise if your midsection looks like the mound of mashed potatoes that Richard Dreyfuss created in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The squat is a classic calorie burning exercise. It also trains big muscles like the quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes. Up the ante by throwing a dumbbell into the mix (a.k.a. the hot potato), and watch the fat peel away like grease from McDonald’s French Fries.

Next thing you know... BAM! You're cut like a Greek statue. Who's your Daddy now?
